The Careers & Enterprise Company was established in 2015 to help link schools and colleges to employers in order to increase employer engagement for young people. Our mission is to prepare and inspire young people for the fast-changing world of work.

This is an exciting time at The Careers & Enterprise Company. During our first three years, we have worked with Local Enterprise Partnerships to build a national network which now links 2,000 schools and colleges to employers. We have also funded 150 programmes to provide high-quality employer engagement activities to young people where they are needed most.

Role Summary

At The Careers & Enterprise Company, research and evaluation play a key role in supporting effective, impactful careers education. We are seeking an Evaluation Manager to develop our approach to evaluation and to lead, design and deliver project evaluations and impact measurement. The candidate will join the organisation at an exciting time as we launch new funds and measurement tools, with scope to shape our approach to building evidence.

A core part of the role will be to support the evaluation of the Hubs Incubation Projects. This is a new initiative where Careers Hubs are invited to develop projects and apply for funding for delivery and evaluation, continuing our commitment to ‘test, learn and adapt’. The first round of projects will commence in September, preceded by a consultation phase. The Evaluation Manager will help design the evaluations and oversee delivery, with the potential to procure external evaluation resource.

The Evaluation Manager will also contribute to developing the organisation’s approach to impact measurement, using data gathered through Compass+ (a digital tool used by schools to plan, track and evaluate career programmes) alongside administrative data, such as destinations measures.

The successful candidate will line manage the Evaluation Officer, supporting the evaluation of Careers Hubs, Careers Leader training, employer engagement and other CEC-led activities. The post will be part of the Research team within the wider Data & Digital Directorate.

Our organisation has a privileged opportunity to make a difference to the lives of millions of young people, helping to inspire and prepare them for the fast-changing world of work, and we want you to help us make it happen.

Applicants are asked to submit a supporting statement (on no more than 2 x A4 pages) outlining how you fulfil the qualifications, experience, skills and core competencies criteria provided in the Job Description and an up-to-date CV.
